RSPA Searching for New CEO

In May of this year Kelly Funk, CEO of RSPA, stepped down.

I will be stepping away from RSPA to spend time focusing on my family. As such, I will recommend and support the executive committee as they begin the selection process for a new RSPA president. I’m grateful for my time with the Association, and have a great respect and appreciation for the entire RSPA membership.

Funk served the RSPA as CEO and president since April of 2014. During her tenure with the RSPA, Funk worked, among many other things, to strengthen membership growth, expand the Association’s marketing and outreach programs, and grow the RSPA’s major annual event, RetailNOW.

“As the president and CEO of RSPA, Kelly lead the charge to drive the RSPA forward in the point of sale technology ecosystem,” says Tom Reichart, chairman of the board of directors for RSPA. “During her tenure, the RSPA expanded their value-add footprint on many fronts including membership services, industry education venues, legal assistance, scholarship campaigns, and affinity programs. We thank her for her years of service, and wish her well in her future endeavors.”

Today, the RSPA Executive Committee announced that a five-member search committee has been appointed to commence the search for a new executive director. All interested candidates should visit http://www.gorspa.org/ExeDirsummary for a detailed summary of the position responsibilities and requirements.

The executive director serves as chief executive of RSPA and, in partnership with the board, is responsible for the success of RSPA. Together, the board and executive director assure RSPA’s relevance to the community, the accomplishment of RSPA’s mission and vision, and the accountability of RSPA to its diverse constituents.

The RSPA is a non-profit association comprised of resellers, distributors, hardware manufacturers, software developers, consultants, payment processors, and service providers who bring retail technology solutions to the marketplace. RSPA is the only association connecting the point of sale technology ecosystem, and the executive director of the organization is integral to this.

Interested and qualified candidates will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, with 12 years or more of experience in point-of-sale, IT or a related technological field of the retail and hospitality industries. Also required is more than eight years in a senior management position. Resumes of qualified applicants may be emailed to RSPAEXEC@Protonmail.com.

“Our goal is to have a qualified and competent industry leader in the RSPA executive director position by the end of Q3, and assist the board of directors and RSPA staff in developing the association’s 2018 go-to-market strategic plan in Q4,” says Tom Reichart, chairman of the RSPA board of directors.
