Despite <a href=\"https:\/\/reformingretail.com\/index.php\/2016\/10\/28\/apple-kills-its-auto-ambitions-but-pos-payments-still-think-theyll-build-everything\/\">all the evidence we point to<\/a> - and even recent stories of behemoths like Apple recognizing that they must <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/apples-next-move-be-more-like-microsoft-11547121600\">relax their walled gardens to keep pace with innovation<\/a> - too many POS companies see something shiny and believe it's in their best interest to build it in-house. We've even <a href=\"https:\/\/reformingretail.com\/index.php\/2018\/11\/06\/lavu-falling-into-the-same-pos-product-trap-as-micros-and-aloha\/\">outlaid the crap math they use<\/a> to arrive at these horrible decisions.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When it comes to APIs, however, POS companies <em>must<\/em> own this piping.
